From Geoffrey de Havilands Company came in 1929 an elegant 3 seater touring airplane that became pacesetter for the development i Europe. Comfort and ease in handling were some of the features. The cabin had lush leather upholstery and the two passengers were seated side by side behind the pilot. The design incorporated ingenuis airbrakes and had folding wings for “garage” storage.

This design also had an inverted engine, a DH Gipsy III 120 hp aircooled and converted for inverted running, allowing improved forward vision, something revolutionary at the time. Some 286 units were built until the model was superseeded in 1933 by the improved DH85 Leopard Moth.

Our model is based on the aircraft at the Shuttleworth Collection in England.
