When WW1 ended in 1918, Italy was left with a number of excellent small flyingboats, one type of which was the Macchi M7. This was a much improved version of the successful M5, that was a worthy opponent to any landplane scout at that time.

Sweden has a long coastline, like Italy, and it was then an opportunity to aquire a number of these fighters for the Swedish Army Aircorps. Five units found their way to Sweden and were based at Malmslätt, near the city of Linköping. The nearby lake Roxen, provided the base for these airplanes. They were used extensively and were retired in 1935. One airplane was kept in shape and is now residing in the Swedish Airforce Museum, Malmslätt, being the only survivor in the world.

When it entered service it was painted light blue with markings on a white rectangle. In 1926, when the Swedish Airforce was formed it, was rendered a charcoal grey fuselage and off white flying surfaces. The national navy flag, a trident with a yellow cross on blue background, was carried on the rudder.

Available in ARF and RNF. The airplane was packed in a stron 3-ply, custom made carton.
